I guess Independents and Democrats understand the obvious more than Republicans do?

As Stephen Colbert pointed out, with all the memoirs that have been published saying the exact same thing, why is this even news?
Bush wanted to make his daddy proud by taking out the man who threatened his daddy.
But you know what? If they'd done it half-way decently, no one would have minded. Instead, they created this cluster-frack.

I have to disagree with "no one would have minded." Lots of us would have minded. We didn't mind the Afghanistan invasion because Afghanistan was (and is) a mess and clearly Al Qeda trained there.
Hussein was clearly a nutjob, but our government is allies with plenty of nutjob governments. We could start with the Saudis, who in the name of religion, deny half their population many basic rights. And these are our friends?
