The actual spelling of my husband's paternal line is Manna. All of his great uncles were "Manna," it was only his grandfather who changed the name. We understand he made the shift to Mann when he started dating a German woman (whom he later married) whose father didn't like Italians.
We've had a report that Jim's father, Lewis A. Mann, died of pancreatic cancer in the late '90s.
